Advising

At the Fay Jones School, you’re more than just a number. Because our program is small, we have the luxury of getting to know you — and that’s important, because our programs are demanding. So come by and get to know our advising staff — Melinda Smith, director of student services, Sheri Lynn Brown, senior academic counselor (advising second- through fifth-year students), and Rachel Fletcher, academic counselor (advising first-year students). Madeline Bray, coordinator for student recruitment, is also available to assist students.

From your first day of orientation to your walk across the commencement stage, we’re the source for information on coursework, scholarships, and job and internship opportunities.

For your academic needs

  • Email Sheri Lynn Brown or Rachel Fletcher for the quickest response to advising questions.
  • If your question or concern requires one-on-one time with Sheri Lynn or Rachel, please contact them individually via email.
  • If you are in another college on campus and wish to change your major to one of our professional programs, or if you are a transfer student, please email Rachel.

Advising for all students takes place in October and March. Check your campus email account for specific information on scheduling your advising appointment.
