Internationally renowned architect Fay Jones’ 58-year relationship with the school began in 1946, when he enrolled in the first architecture classes offered at the University of Arkansas, and continued through 35 years of teaching and service as the School’s first dean.
Funded by a generous gift from Don and Ellen Edmondson, the Fay Jones Chair in Architecture provides support for a visiting faculty member who is nationally respected in the field of architecture and has exhibited superior design and teaching skills. The list of Fay Jones chairs includes:
