Funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation,
a private foundation that supports sustainable programs exhibiting an
entrepreneurial spirit, the Steven L. Anderson Chair funds a full-time
faculty member who is nationally respected in architecture and urban
studies. The chair honors Steven L. Anderson, an architect and 1976
graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Architecture who
serves as president of the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
The
holder of the chair is devoted to teaching and directing the activities
of the University of Arkansas Community Design Center. David Glasser,
the first recipient of the endowment, led downtown redevelopment
projects for more than 30 Arkansas cities. Under the leadership of
Stephen Luoni, current holder of the chair, the Community Design Center
has garnered numerous regional, national, and international planning
and design awards.
