The Fay Jones School of Architecture will host a reception honoring Tim de Noble, architecture department head, from 2 - 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 in the Paul Young Jr. Gallery on the second floor of Vol Walker Hall. De Noble has accepted a new position as dean of Kansas State University's College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
“We are very sorry to see Tim go, but excited by the opportunities that this new position affords him,” said Jeff Shannon, dean of the School of Architecture.
De Noble came to the University of Arkansas in 1994 and has been head of the architecture department since 2005. Under his leadership, the architecture department sailed through reaccreditation in 2008 and was recently ranked 20th among the top 20 undergraduate architecture programs in the nation in a study conducted by the Design Futures Council and published in the November/December 2008 issue of Design Intelligence.
De Noble will begin work in his new position on July 1.
