After earning his M.F.A. in printmaking at the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana, Tim Latourette managed the Art Coop, an art supply store in Champagne, Illinois. He was self-employed as a contractor/cabinetmaker for fifteen years and designed and built his own home before joining the School of Architecture staff in 2002. In addition to supervising students to ensure safe use of woodshop tools, Latourette teaches courses in furniture design. In his free time, he makes prints and designs hand-crafted furniture, often incorporating copper plates from his etchings into the furniture.
