Where to exercise

On campus

Check out the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) building. This $14 million facility houses 10 racquetball courts, four basketball gyms, an indoor track, an olympic size pool, climbing wall and men's and women's saunas. A variety of  classes are offered each semester on topics ranging from belly dancing to tae kwon do.

Near campus

Just a short walk north of campus is Wilson Park, which offers tennis courts, a ball field and a one-mile loop with views to surrounding historic homes.

The City of Fayetteville is rapidly expanding its trails and greenways system.

Nautilus machines, Pilates or yoga stretches? There are several fitness facilities near campus to suit your style, including the Arkansas Yoga Center and the Center for Exercise at Washington Regional.

Get out of town!

In 2003 Outside Magazine named the University of Arkansas one of the nation's forty best schools for outdoor recreation, noting "pretty much any outdoor activity that doesn't require snow can be found within a twenty-mile radius of the University."  Visit a state park to find out why they call Arkansas "the Natural State."

Fayetteville's parks system includes 60
parks, three lakes  and 17 miles of trails.
