School of Architecture Scholarships

Study abroad, site visits, art supplies – the costs add up. To ease student expenses, the School of Architecture has tapped alumni and friends to establish 75+ annual awards and scholarships. The school’s scholarship program has grown from $3000 awarded in 1991 to the current average of more than $90,000 in student support each year. School leaders continue to actively develop new sources of funding to recognize outstanding students and give a boost to families with financial need.

By the way, you don’t need a 4.0 gpa to apply. In addition to academic achievement, our scholarships recognize qualities such as creativity, writing ability, leadership, community service, commitment to sustainable design, and hard work in studio. Some scholarships include financial need as a criterion.

Prospective students: The school has established several Freshmen Recruiting Awards to draw top-notch students into the program. To apply, fill out this on-line incoming student scholarship application form. Deadline is April 15! Awards are announced during the summer.

Current students: To apply for All-School Awards, Architecture Student Awards or Landscape Architecture Student Awards, fill out this on-line scholarship application form. Some scholarships require a separate submission. Deadline is December 1! Awards are announced in the spring.

Faculty: The School of Architecture also recognizes outstanding teaching and supports faculty research with Faculty Awards. Application process and deadlines vary; see specific awards for details.

Honors College Scholarships: Each year, the Honors College awards 2000 scholarships and fellowships ranging from $2000 to the Chancellor’s Fellowship, which covers room and board, tuition, and fees and awards $50,000 for travel and research.
